Turkey’s Embassy in Cairo continues aid activities for Palestinian families

The Turkish Embassy in Cairo has reaffirmed its ongoing support for Palestinian families, organizing a series of humanitarian initiatives and solidarity events for Palestinians living in Egypt. As part of Turkey’s sustained commitment to Gaza, the embassy has hosted multiple gatherings to assist those impacted by the continuing crisis.

To mark the beginning of 2026, the embassy launched a special solidarity and aid event, welcoming 200 Palestinian families. In a recent activity, organized in collaboration with the Turkish humanitarian organization Verenel, food and financial assistance were distributed to 100 Palestinian families. The event also saw the participation of 100 Palestinian children, who enjoyed dedicated play areas and creative activities including face painting.

The event took place at the official residence of Turkey’s Ambassador to Cairo, Salih Mutlu Şen, drawing an audience of over 100 journalists and social media influencers from Egypt and Palestine, as well as 15 representatives from Verenel who traveled from Turkey for the occasion.

In his address, Ambassador Şen emphasized Turkey’s unwavering support for the Palestinian people, noting, “We are honoured to continue organizing tangible, meaningful support for our Palestinian brothers and sisters—not just through words, but through concrete humanitarian actions.” He stated that such programs will only grow in scope, especially during the upcoming holy month of Ramadan, reiterating Turkey’s commitment to supporting Gaza.

The ambassador expressed gratitude to Turkish relief organizations and highlighted the ongoing collaboration with Verenel, emphasizing that both Turkish government institutions and civil society are working tirelessly to uphold the dignity of Palestinians and keep hope alive for their return to Gaza.

Ambassador Şen also thanked Egyptian authorities for their ongoing support in facilitating the delivery of humanitarian aid via Cairo and Al-Arish, underlining the crucial role played by Egyptian institutions in providing shelter and assistance to Palestinians.

Throughout the event, Ambassador Şen made a special effort to engage with Palestinian families and children, demonstrating Turkey’s dedication to compassionate and sustained assistance.
