Egypt and Namibia deepen pharmaceutical regulatory cooperation
In a step towards strengthening international health collaboration, Dr. Ali El-Ghamrawy, Chairman of the Egyptian Drug Authority (EDA), welcomed H.E. Vilio Hifindaka, Ambassador of Namibia to Egypt, to discuss enhanced cooperation in pharmaceutical regulation between Egypt and Namibia.
During the meeting, both officials explored avenues for regulatory knowledge exchange, technical capacity building, and development of collaborative mechanisms to ensure the quality and effectiveness of medicines in both markets.
Dr. El-Ghamrawy emphasized EDA’s commitment to supporting African partners, offering technical expertise, organizing training workshops, and providing specialized consultations on drug registration and quality control. “We are dedicated to fostering robust partnerships that meet international standards and benefit citizens in both countries,” he said.
Ambassador Hifindaka expressed Namibia’s appreciation for Egypt’s leadership in pharmaceutical regulation, looking forward to deepening collaboration, especially in policy development, information sharing, and capacity building.
Both sides concluded by reaffirming their intention to maintain institutional cooperation to further strengthen the regulatory systems in Egypt and Namibia, ensuring access to safe, high-quality medicines.
