Turkish porcelain leader Bonna to invest $100 million in new Egyptian facility
In a significant boost to Egypt’s manufacturing sector, leading Turkish porcelain company Bonna, a brand under Kar’s, has announced plans to open a $100 million production facility in Alexandria’s Burg Al Arab region.
The initiative was unveiled by Turkish Ambassador Salih Mutlu Şen, who expressed enthusiasm about deepening economic cooperation between Turkey and Egypt.
Bonna, recognized as a top name in the Turkish porcelain industry, will focus primarily on exports, dedicating about 90% of its output to international markets, while 10% will serve Egyptian consumers. The state-of-the-art facility in Alexandria is expected to commence operations as soon as possible, signaling a new era of industrial partnership in the region.
Ambassador Şen said, “I am confident the Egyptian authorities will provide our investor with the necessary support to facilitate this project.” He also shared that he recently met with Bonna’s General Manager, Mr. Erbil Aşkan, to discuss project progress and offer insights from the Turkish diplomatic mission.
This investment marks a promising step for both countries, creating new jobs, increasing exports, and strengthening economic ties. By introducing Bonna’s high-quality porcelain production to Egypt, the company aims to contribute positively to local industry, while reaffirming confidence in Egypt as a destination for international investment.
