Egypt and Germany launch joint schools initiative to boost technical education
In a heartening step towards strengthening international education ties, Egypt’s Minister of Education and Technical Education, Mr. Mohamed Abdel Latif, welcomed German Ambassador to Cairo, Mr. Jürgen Schulz, for in-depth discussions on advancing vocational and technical education in Egypt.
A major highlight of the meeting was the review of the latest progress on the innovative “Egyptian-German Schools” initiative.
Minister Abdel Latif emphasized the strategic significance of cooperation with Germany, expressing the Ministry’s steadfast commitment to advancing the quality of education in Egypt. He highlighted that technical education is a vital pillar for Egypt’s sustainable development and that collaboration with Germany will bring added value to this promising sector.
Looking ahead, the Minister shared ambitious plans to launch the first Egyptian-German school in the upcoming academic year, with aspirations to expand to 100 schools across the country. These schools will focus on applied technology and offer a unique combination of practical training and German expertise—aiming to prepare Egyptian graduates for both local and international job markets.
Ambassador Schulz praised the ongoing reforms and positive transformation in Egypt’s education system. He reaffirmed Germany’s eagerness to further support Egypt through sharing expertise, developing specialized training programs for teachers, and expanding fruitful cooperation on the Egyptian-German Schools project.
Both sides agreed to move forward with all necessary steps to ensure the successful launch and expansion of the Egyptian-German Schools, seeing the project as a symbol of the strong and long-standing relationship between Egypt and Germany.
