Egypt airlifts humanitarian aid to Gaza in ongoing relief effort

In response to President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi’s directives, Egypt has intensified its humanitarian support for Palestinians in Gaza by airlifting several tons of food and essential supplies to hard-to-reach areas. The operation aims to alleviate the severe humanitarian crisis facing residents of the Gaza Strip.

On Thursday, four Egyptian military transport planes departed from Egypt, carrying urgently needed food aid. The supplies were dropped by air into areas within Gaza that have become inaccessible due to ongoing conflict and restrictions on ground access.

These airlifts come as part of Egypt’s broader commitment to assist its Palestinian neighbors during this difficult period. According to Egyptian military sources, Egypt has provided nearly 80% of the total aid delivered to Gaza since the beginning of the current crisis, working closely with international partners and agencies to ensure the swift delivery of supplies.

Alongside these air operations, Egypt continues to send aid via land routes, underscoring the country’s determination to help ease shortages of basic necessities for Gaza’s population.

This latest initiative reflects Egypt’s ongoing efforts, in coordination with international actors, to relieve the suffering of civilians and to seek an end to the conflict’s worsening humanitarian toll.
