Turkish Embassy in Cairo leads Eid al-Adha solidarity event for Palestinian families

The Turkish Embassy in Cairo, in collaboration with the Palestinian Embassy, Egyptian NGO “Awladi,” and the Turkish Humanitarian Relief Foundation (IHH), organized a heartwarming Eid al-Adha event distributing sacrificial meat and financial support to Palestinian and Egyptian families in need.

Nearly 700 beneficiaries took part in this solidarity initiative, gathering at the Turkish Embassy’s residence to mark Eid al-Adha together.

The event was attended by Salih Mutlu Şen, the Turkish Ambassador to Egypt, embassy officials, members of Yunus Emre Institute, representatives from Turkish Airlines and AJet, as well as several journalists.

During the event, each family received a generous package containing 10 kilograms of sacrificial meat, prepared by IHH. In addition, recipients were given direct financial support, in a gesture of compassion for those most affected by conflict and hardship, particularly Gaza war victims.

In his welcoming remarks, Ambassador Şen expressed heartfelt concern for the deteriorating situation in Gaza, emphasizing that the pain endured there overshadows holiday celebrations for the entire Muslim world. He offered prayers for Palestinian freedom and dignity and underscored the Turkish nation’s commitment, under President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan’s leadership, to aiding those in need—regardless of their origin.

Ambassador Şen also highlighted the robust cooperation between Turkish and Egyptian NGOs, stressing the centuries-old ties of brotherhood between the two peoples.
