Egypt and Venezuela celebrate 75 years of friendship, eyeing tourism and cultural exchange
In a heartwarming celebration of international friendship, the Venezuelan Ambassador to Egypt, Wilmer Omar Barrientos, appeared on Egypt’s flagship television program, “The World Tomorrow,” broadcast on Channel One.
Following his engaging interview, Ambassador Barrientos paid a special visit to the iconic Naguib Mahfouz Studio on the 27th floor of Egypt’s Radio and Television Building.
The Ambassador commended the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Venezuela and Egypt, describing the ties as distinguished and full of promise. Looking ahead, Ambassador Barrientos announced the upcoming visit of Venezuela’s Minister of Tourism to Egypt, highlighting expanding cooperation in tourism.
He stressed the importance of Egyptian presence in Venezuelan media and expressed hopes to increase Latin American tourism to Egypt, particularly with the recent opening of the Grand Egyptian Museum.
The exchange was further enriched by a thoughtful sharing of national treasures: Ahmed El Moslemany, head of Egypt’s National Media Authority, presented Ambassador Barrientos with a collection of songs by the legendary Egyptian singer Umm Kulthum. In return, the Ambassador gifted El Moslemany a set of special Venezuelan literary works, underscoring the spirit of cultural and artistic exchange between the two friendly nations.
