Saudi heritage and female craft shine in Hail

RIYADH - A heritage festival in Hail is enchanting attendees with an impressive selection of handicrafts that beautifully unite creativity with historical tradition, the Saudi Press Agency announced on Saturday.

Running for 30 days, the festival offers visitors a window into history, highlighting the craftsmanship involved in making everyday items while honoring the achievements of local female artisans.

With more than 40 activities featured, guests can immerse themselves in time-honored skills such as wickerwork, sadu weaving, crochet, hand-loomed textiles, and the distinctive artistry of Najdi and Hail door construction.

Additional attractions include traditional garments, Thamudic embroidery, wood and leather beadwork, fiber arts, resin creations, and soap making, according to SPA.

A variety of authentic folk foods are also available for visitors to enjoy. At the core of the celebration, an artistic theater presents dynamic performances, such as the Hail Samri and Saudi Ardah.

By providing a stage for local craftspeople to present their work directly to the community, the festival not only supports these talented artisans but also honors Saudi Arabia’s cultural legacy and national identity, reflecting the spirit of the Year of Handicrafts 2025.
