Egyptian and Ukrainian leaders review global crises, stress need for peaceful solutions
Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi received a phone call today from Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, the Egyptian Presidency announced.
During the conversation, the two leaders discussed the latest developments in the ongoing conflict between Russia and Ukraine.
President Sisi emphasized the importance of diplomatic and political solutions and the need for dialogue to resolve the crisis, reaffirming Egypt’s full support for all efforts aimed at achieving a peaceful settlement as soon as possible.
The leaders also exchanged views on the situation in the Middle East and ways to restore stability to the region. Both presidents stressed the importance of maintaining the current ceasefire agreement between Israel and Iran, and highlighted the need to resume negotiations for a peaceful resolution to existing tensions.
President Sisi briefed President Zelensky on Egypt’s ongoing efforts to achieve a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip and to ensure the delivery of humanitarian aid to those in need.
Additionally, the call touched on ways to enhance bilateral relations between Egypt and Ukraine, with a focus on exploring new opportunities for economic, commercial, and investment cooperation, to serve the interests of both nations and their peoples.
