President Sisi reaffirms strong support for Lebanese stability
Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi warmly welcomed Lebanon’s Prime Minister, Dr. Nawaf Salam, on his inaugural visit to Cairo since taking office. The meeting, attended by top Egyptian ministers and ambassadors, highlighted the close historical ties between the two countries.
President Sisi praised the Lebanese government’s positive steps towards restoring stability and strengthening state institutions, and reaffirmed Egypt’s strong support for Lebanon’s sovereignty and unity. He emphasized Egypt’s ongoing efforts with international partners to promote peace in Lebanon and called for continued international backing for the Lebanese state, including vital support for its armed forces.
Prime Minister Salam expressed deep gratitude for Egypt’s steadfast assistance, which reflects the enduring bond between their peoples. He underscored Lebanon’s commitment to closer ties with Arab nations, announcing preparations for a key joint committee meeting later this year in Cairo.
Both leaders also discussed regional developments, voicing solidarity on the crisis in Gaza and agreeing on the need for peaceful solutions and respect for the sovereignty of all nations in the region. They concluded with a shared commitment to ongoing consultation and cooperation in the service of their people and regional stability.
