Armenian Ambassador visits Egyptian political party to strengthen bilateral ties
Cairo, Egypt – In a spirit of friendship and cooperation, Armenia’s Ambassador to Egypt, Mr. Armen Sarkissian, visited the headquarters of Egypt’s Al-Wa’y (“Awareness”) Party for a meeting focused on expanding collaboration and deepening bilateral relations between the two nations.
The Ambassador was accompanied by Mr. Mkrtich Karapetyan, Consul at the Armenian Embassy, and Dr. Armen Mazlumyan, President of the Armenian National Committee. They were warmly welcomed by Dr. Basel Adel, President of Al-Wa’y Party, in a gesture that highlights the role of party diplomacy in bringing nations and peoples closer together.
Discussions centered on ways to strengthen Egyptian-Armenian relations, with both sides emphasizing the need to broaden cooperation, particularly in economic and investment sectors. The officials urged for the convening of the Egyptian-Armenian Joint Committee as a key step toward strengthening their partnership.
During the meeting, the two sides agreed to move forward with the establishment of an Egyptian-Armenian Friendship Association. This new platform aims to foster closer ties between the two peoples and encourage dialogue between political parties from both countries.
Ambassador Sarkissian expressed his appreciation for Al-Wa’y Party’s efforts to build bridges of communication, stressing the importance of ongoing engagement with Armenian political parties to serve mutual interests and build balanced, enduring relations between Egypt and Armenia.
The meeting was also attended by senior representatives from Al-Wa’y Party, including Vice President Mr. Mohamed El-Ghamrawy, Assistant President Mr. Rami Zohdi, Press and Communication Committee Head Mr. Hazem El-Mallah, Community Outreach Chair Ms. Nermin Michel, and Dr. Aisha Hassan, Head of the Mental Health Committee.
