In a sign of deepening ties between Egypt and the international football community, FIFA President Gianni Infantino has accepted an official invitation from Egypt’s Minister of Youth and Sports, Dr. Ashraf Sobhi, to attend the inauguration of Egypt’s National Teams Camp next March.
The announcement followed a cordial meeting between Dr. Sobhi, Mr. Infantino, and Eng. Hani Abo Rida, President of the Egyptian Football Association. The leaders discussed opportunities for advancing football in Egypt, highlighting the country’s growing role on the international sports stage.
The engagement also explored avenues for increased collaboration between Egypt and FIFA, touching on the development of Egyptian football and support for grassroots and elite football initiatives. Among the exciting events discussed was the hosting of an international match at the main stadium of Egypt’s new Administrative Capital, as well as the official launch of the National Teams Camp.
Dr. Sobhi highlighted Egypt’s commitment to fostering the next generation of football talent, while Mr. Infantino expressed his enthusiasm for returning to Egypt and being part of this significant event. As part of the festivities in March, an international match is scheduled to mark the opening of the new camp—with Mr. Infantino in attendance alongside Egyptian and international football dignitaries.
