Egypt announces results of General Secondary school examinations
Egypt’s Minister of Education and Technical Education, Mr. Mohamed Abdel Latif, announced today the results for the first round of the national General Secondary (Thanawiya Amma) Certificate Examinations for the academic year 2024/2025.
According to official figures, the overall success rate under the new examination system reached 79.2%, while the traditional system saw a 72.7% pass rate.
A total of 785,099 students registered for this year’s exams across both systems, with 728,892 attending and 574,347 successfully passing.
Under the new system, the Science (Sciences) stream saw a participation of 417,260 students, with a commendable 79.6% passing rate. The Science (Math) stream recorded the highest success, with 85.8% of the 107,947 students passing. In the Literary stream, 73.6% of 159,434 students successfully passed.
For those following the traditional system, 44,251 students attended, and 32,163 passed, making for a 72.7% success rate. Among Science (Sciences) stream students, 73.1% passed, while Science (Math) and Literary streams recorded 68.4% and 73.4% success rates respectively.
