Egypt marks National Day at Expo 2025 Osaka, celebrates partnership with Japan
Osaka, Japan – Egypt marked its National Day at Expo 2025 Osaka with a spirited celebration honoring the enduring friendship and shared aspirations between Egypt and Japan. The event formed part of the World Expo’s activities in Osaka, which runs from April 13 to October 13, 2025, and brought together international guests, dignitaries, and cultural performers.
Egypt’s Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade, Eng. Hassan El-Khatib, led the delegation and expressed deep appreciation to the Japanese government, the people of Japan, and the Expo’s organizers for hosting this extraordinary global event.
“This celebration is an expression of the strong bonds of friendship, trust, and shared ambitions between our two nations—Egypt and Japan—whose remarkable heritages have shaped the world,” El-Khatib said during the ceremony. “Together, we look forward to a future defined by innovation, sustainability, and humanity.”
Egypt’s participation in Expo 2025 Osaka, themed “Designing Future Society for Our Lives,” is a source of pride, El-Khatib noted. The Egyptian pavilion highlights the country’s rich history and vibrant identity, while also showcasing Egypt’s ambitious vision for sustainable growth.
The Minister emphasized Egypt’s longstanding role as a contributor to the global community, from shaping civilizations to its modern efforts in building smart cities, investing in renewable energy, digitizing industries, and positioning itself as a regional powerhouse for trade and innovation.
El-Khatib praised Japan as a strategic partner, referencing the two countries’ shared values of discipline, resilience, and creativity. He also underscored the opportunities for joint projects, technology exchange, and industrial cooperation, citing Egypt’s strategic location, competitive workforce, and robust trade networks as key advantages.
“By working together, Egypt and Japan can build future-ready, sustainable value chains,” he added.
El-Khatib encouraged visitors to the Expo to experience the Egyptian pavilion, where the wonders of ancient civilization meet the ambitions of a new era. He extended heartfelt thanks to the Egyptian team and all international partners who contributed to Egypt’s successful participation in the Expo.
“The celebration of Egypt’s National Day at Expo Osaka marks another chapter in our growing and enduring partnership with Japan,” he said, expressing hope for increased collaboration and mutual prosperity in the years ahead.
