Egypt revamps seven iconic hotels in partnership with private sector
Egypt’s Prime Minister, Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, held a meeting today to review development plans for seven of the country’s most iconic historic hotels, in partnership with the private sector.
This initiative is part of Egypt’s broader privatization program, aimed at boosting the efficiency and profitability of these valuable tourism assets.
The meeting brought together key government ministers and leaders in tourism, investment, and the hotel industry. The seven hotels are the Steigenberger Cecil Hotel Alexandria, Sofitel Legend Old Cataract Aswan, Mövenpick Aswan, Sofitel Winter Palace Luxor, Steigenberger El Tahrir, Marriott Mena House, and Marriott Omar Khayyam Zamalek.
Plans include substantial investments to restore and modernize these hotels, all while preserving their unique heritage and architecture.
The goal is to elevate their service quality to international hospitality standards, attract more guests and tourists from around the world, and generate greater returns for both the state and investors.
Officials emphasized that this marks an important step in enhancing Egypt’s hospitality sector, highlighting the country’s rich history and cultural assets.
