Suez Canal Economic Zone signs $35 million deal for new Turkish textile factory
The Suez Canal Economic Zone (SCZone) has signed a $35 million investment agreement with Turkish company Nil Örme to establish a textiles and garments factory in the Qantara West Industrial Zone, Egypt. The project, covering 33,000 square meters, is expected to create around 2,000 direct jobs and aims to export 90% of its output internationally.
SCZone Chairman Waleid Gamal El-Din highlighted the area’s growing prominence as a regional hub for textile manufacturing, now home to 34 projects worth $859 million in total investments, and generating over 48,000 jobs.
He credited the zone’s strong infrastructure, skilled workforce, and global trade access for attracting foreign investment, and noted continued efforts to deepen local industry and strengthen the supply chain. SCZone will also launch its first promotional tour in Turkey in September to attract more international investors.
