Egypt’s Turathna heritage exhibition draws global and diplomatic applause

The seventh edition of Egypt’s "Turathna" Heritage Exhibition has attracted significant praise and encouragement from senior state officials, members of the diplomatic community, and representatives of foreign communities residing in Egypt. The exhibition, which showcases centuries-old Egyptian crafts and art forms, stands as a global meeting point for cultural heritage.

Notable visitors to this year’s event included regional governors, university presidents, and a distinguished delegation of ambassadors’ spouses, organized through the "Welcome to Egypt" initiative in partnership with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Their attendance, alongside hundreds of international guests and local families, underscores the event’s expanding international profile and its importance for both tourism and cross-cultural exchange.

Basil Rahmy, CEO of Egypt’s Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises Development Agency (MSMEDA)—the event organizer under the patronage of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi—noted that the exhibition's growing success was driven by extensive collaboration among government ministries, private sector partners, and civil society organizations. He stressed the exhibition’s vital role in supporting Egypt’s artisans and boosting the national economy by preserving and promoting traditional crafts.

Rahmy thanked all stakeholders for their support, noting the strong turnout from ministers, public figures, and university students, who all contributed to a festive atmosphere celebrating Egypt’s rich artistic legacy. The event also featured traditional performances and welcomed numerous student groups, further fostering an appreciation for heritage crafts among Egypt’s younger generations.

The "Turathna" Exhibition continues to serve as a leading platform for artisans, offering international audiences a unique window into Egypt's timeless craftsmanship and inspiring future generations to uphold and innovate in these cultural traditions.
