Egypt exports LNG to Turkey via TotalEnergies

Egypt has successfully exported a new shipment of liquefied natural gas (LNG) to Turkey as part of its ongoing partnership with the global energy company TotalEnergies.

According to a statement from Egypt’s Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, the LNG cargo—amounting to 150,000 cubic meters—departed from the Idku liquefaction plant on board the vessel "LNG ENDURANCE," headed for Turkish shores.

This milestone forms part of Egypt’s broader strategy to encourage international investment in its natural gas sector. By supporting exploration and enhancing local production, the Ministry aims to attract global companies to deepen their presence in Egypt.

The statement also highlighted the growing cooperation between the Egyptian government and TotalEnergies, particularly in expanding gas exploration in the deep waters of the Mediterranean Sea. The French energy giant is leveraging Egypt’s advanced LNG infrastructure, which not only accelerates project development but also helps reduce operational costs.

This latest shipment underscores Egypt’s role as an emerging regional energy hub and reflects the government’s commitment to driving sustainable growth in the natural gas industry.
