Egypt’s Turathna 2025 heritage fair to host Tunisia as guest of honor
Egypt’s premier traditional crafts and heritage exhibition, Turathna 2025, under the patronage of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, is poised to become a vibrant regional and international cultural platform this October. The event will welcome the Republic of Tunisia as Guest of Honor, alongside distinguished national pavilions from the United Arab Emirates, Jordan, Algeria, and Pakistan.
Basil Rahmy, CEO of Egypt’s Micro, Small and Medium Enterprise Development Agency (MSMEDA), emphasized the significance of international participation in Turathna. “We are committed to making Turathna a hub for regional and international dialogue, fostering cultural and economic ties between Egypt and countries around the world,” he stated. The initiative aligns with Egypt’s broader agenda to strengthen international cooperation while supporting small businesses specialized in traditional and artisanal industries.
Turathna, now in its seventh edition, serves as a creative marketplace that opens new marketing avenues for artisanal entrepreneurs, giving them access to both local and export markets and promoting cross-cultural exchange. This year’s special focus is on Tunisia, reflecting a newly signed memorandum of understanding between Egypt and Tunisia to boost collaboration and develop small and medium enterprises in both countries.
The fair will run from October 4th to 11th at the Egypt International Exhibition Center, with more than 1,000 exhibitors from across Egypt showcasing a dazzling array of traditional goods. Visitors can expect to explore over 30 heritage sectors—from handwoven carpets and silk painting, to embroidery, pottery, brass, wooden crafts, and Bedouin products.
Special pavilions from the UAE, Jordan, Algeria, and Pakistan will offer visitors the chance to experience the rich artistic traditions and folklore of each country, with unique displays highlighting their cultural heritage.
“By regularly inviting sister countries to participate in Turathna, we hope to create a gathering point for creative expression, economic exchange, and friendship, allowing visitors to experience the beauty and diversity of Arab and regional cultures firsthand,” Rahmy concluded.
Turathna 2025 is widely recognized as one of the region’s largest and most dynamic exhibitions dedicated to heritage crafts and folk art—a true celebration of creativity and cultural unity.
