Egypt and UAE foundations unite to boost youth training and knowledge sharing

In a significant move to bolster knowledge sharing and youth empowerment in the Arab region, Egypt’s National Press Authority (NPA) and the Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Knowledge Foundation (MBRF), based in the United Arab Emirates, have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) today.

The agreement aims to foster cooperation in research, journalism training, knowledge exchange, and the promotion of Arab culture.

The signing ceremony took place in Cairo, with Eng. Abdel Sadeq El Shorbagy, Chairman of Egypt's NPA, and Mr. Jamal Bin Huwaireb, CEO of MBRF, as signatories. Distinguished officials and media leaders from both Egypt and the UAE attended the event.

Under the new partnership, both organizations will work together to organize knowledge-based conferences, workshops, and cultural events throughout the region. They are planning to launch specialized training programs aimed at strengthening the skills of young journalists and media professionals.

Another focus of their collaboration is to promote scientific research, as well as publishing, writing, and translation projects, all with the goal of nurturing emerging talent and encouraging innovation. The partnership also includes joint efforts in publishing and distribution, making full use of the strengths and resources that both partners bring.

Additionally, Egyptian national press publications will be promoted through MBRF’s Digital Knowledge Hub, which will help expand their reach. Both organizations are interested in organizing initiatives around the United Nations’ International Day of the Arabic Language and in supporting scientific research conducted in Arabic.

They will also work together to share the Global Knowledge Index and raise awareness around important issues such as literacy and the vital role education plays in a country’s development.

During the event, participants exchanged insights on current initiatives, explored each organization’s strategic objectives, and discussed future joint projects. Eng. El Shorbagy underscored the deep and historic ties between Egypt and the UAE, and expressed his enthusiasm for the new phase of constructive collaboration.

Mr. Bin Huwaireb praised Egypt’s pivotal role in the Arab world, lauding the country’s rich journalistic heritage and abundant intellectual contributions. He highlighted the partnership as an opportunity to support Arab youth and invest in the future of the region’s knowledge economy.

Both parties reiterated their readiness to launch innovative training programs, cultural initiatives, and knowledge-based activities, with the goal of empowering future generations and supporting the continued growth of Arab media and cultural output.

The event concluded with an exchange of commemorative shields, reflecting the mutual respect and optimism for a fruitful partnership.
